Hello everyone. Today I have the first of two holiday trios from Zoya. I like the idea of smaller collections. They used to do huge 12 piece Christmas collections and I feel like nowadays people just can’t afford to buy 12 polishes at once. But 3? That’s a lot more accessible. This collection was inspired by Y2K. Why? I have no idea. But I remember Y2K very clearly!
Malana: 3 coats. A GLAMOROUS juicy bubblegum pink in a liquid holographic jelly formula. Holy cow, that’s like the pinkest pink I’ve ever seen. While it’s not a color I’m attracted to, it’s definitely a throwback to colors I would have loved in middle school. There’s also a really nice blue tinge to it. Is that a Fergie reference too? The Flossie, Flossieeeee.
sparrow: 3 coats. A light cyan jelly shade, this liquid hologram makes for a nice splashy look with this boom boom pow! This one is super bright and fun and has a purple shift that you could see in person but wanted to hide in photos. Like the previous color, it was a bit see-through in two coats, so I preferred three to get rid of my entire nail edge. Again this is an entirely Y2K color and I assume once again named after Fergie since the description mentions Boom Boom Pow.
Tamia: 3 coats. A tart liquid grape jelly enriched with holographic sparkles, truly irreplaceable! I don’t know if this is also a Fergie reference, but I’m trying to think of a song in the 2000s as irreplaceable. I’m sure it exists. That’s just the Fergie collection to me, lol. For me this color screams 2000 and I can remember that I got such purple shimmering polishes and sunglasses, haha. Remember those colored sunglasses Britney used to wear? LOLL,
So the year 2000 is the most random theme ever, but it’s fun and sparkly. The colors are atypical for the holidays, but the sparkle is perfect!
