Let’s see, the shades that are most flattering to my tanned skin tone (I’m an NC42 in MAC) are pretty much all in the warm, but not too warm, category. For eye makeup, warm browns, taupes, purples and bronzes are my favorite colors – NARS Fez and MAC Satin Taupe all day, every day!
However, there seems to be a fine line between warm and TOO warm. For example, if an eyeshadow has very strong warm reds or oranges, it looks really weird on me, like I’ve got a bad cold or I’ve been crying.
Light jewel tones suit me too. I’m going to take all the purple, blue, and green eyeliner. 🙂
For blush and lipstick, I like warm pink or coral tones; I feel like I can pull off reds and browns decently too. I have a harder time with plum and wine tones, which is why I don’t wear them that often.
