Happy Thursday my friend. How are you? Do you know what I’ve discovered in the past few weeks? If you need someone to chat to about blinds versus shades versus curtains for 45 minutes, I AM YOUR GIRL.
Did I actually create a slide show about curtains? YOU CAN BET ON IT.
No one ever told me that growing up made you fret over blind cords or think about different blind installation techniques at 3am!
Anyway, hello from my hopefully soon to be filled with blinds home, LOL! I have to keep telling myself that this will be done soon, otherwise I might go insane.
As far as beauty goes, I went to Ulta last week because 1) needed a moment of pampering and 2) I was running out of staples.
When you run out of basics like toothpaste, lotion, or razors, why does it all happen at the same damn time? It’s crazy.
Back to Ultra. I bought body lotion (good old CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, pumped of course), Hask Repairing Deep Conditioner Hair Mask (my mane needs serious maintenance), OPI Gel Polish in the shade Half Past Nude (it’s a pale warm pink, that slightly darker than bubble bath), and because Connor was with me, I bought her a bottle of orange nail polish from the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri line.

If you have a little girl who loves painting her nails, the Insta-Dris are the BEST! It only takes about 10 minutes for your nails to fully cure. It’s the only nail polish she’ll sit still for.
The last thing I bought was another bottle of Avene Solaire UV Mineral Sunscreen. I wore it to the pumpkin patch last weekend, and despite being in the sun all day – and without a hat, gosh! — I didn’t pick up any color. I hope Avene *never* discontinues this sunscreen because it’s my favorite face sunscreen of any I’ve tried in the last two years, and girl I’ve tried a lot. Give it a try if you haven’t already!
Life at that end was good but busy. When I’m not juggling our family calendar or taking Connor to a play date or a dance class, I’m balancing life, work and all those things. you know how it is I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how to manage all of this, and I was wondering what systems do you use to keep track of things?
We have a central family calendar that I and El Hub share. I’ve only recently started using the reminder feature on my phone and it really helps a lot because I don’t feel like I have to carry so much in my head. Anyway, I’d love to hear what you use to keep your life and the life of your family organized.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
karen
