If you ever feel like you are stagnant in your nail design creativity, stamping plates can open up another world for you. The possibilities for patterns and scenes that you can create yourself with just one stamp plate are manifold. And many plates are seasonally themed, so winter is the perfect time to dig into them if you haven’t already.
What’s up nails is one of the best brands to explore the possibilities of stamping due to their numerous plate options and high quality polish. You’ll get a perfect, clean stamp every time, making your designs look like they took tedious hours to create when it only took minutes.
To help you with inspiration, Whats Up Nails regularly posts video tutorials on their Instagram (@whatsupnails) and YouTube channel. The brand is currently offering many creative holiday designs to make with their wintry stamping plates. Check out the step-by-step tutorial for one of her gorgeous Christmas looks below.

Get the Look: Red and Gold Christmas Trees
- Apply stamping black nail polish to the image of Christmas tree cones on the Whats Up Nails – B065 Winter Flurryland stamping plate, scrape off excess nail polish with a scraper and immediately roll your stamper over the image without pressure to pick up the design.
- Fill in the design on the stamper with a detail brush and festive colors like holographic gold and red, then let dry.
- Apply a layer of base coat to the nail, let it dry (it will remain a bit tacky) and transfer the image from the stamper to the nail tip, leaving half of the nail blank.
- Seal with clear coat and you’re done!
This design and many others are featured in the Whats Up Nails winter design compilation below. We hope you’re feeling inspired through the end of this year and into next. Enjoy!
