As a fellow bayan, rihanna is basically my cousin in my mind. While I may be a little depressed trying to cope with the freezing cold of New York City, I’m always happy to live vicariously through her while she’s on our beautiful island of Barbados. This month, the “Work” singer soaked up the Caribbean sun with boyfriend A$AP Rocky while rocking the cutest holiday hairstyle I’ve ever seen: box braids brimming with colorful charms.
Rihanna is the queen of experimentation thanks to her style and beauty choices, so we’ve seen her sport many different haircuts, colors, and hair accessories. However, this may be the first time we’ve seen the “Pon de Replay” singer sport braids studded with a rainbow selection of pearls. Each waist-length braid had several jelly-like beads woven into it, of various colors and shapes, distributed along the length of the braid. For example, one of her braids had several transparent heart-shaped pendants in the front.
From the radiant glow of her skin, I can safely say that my style icon is living her best life right now. In true Rihanna fashion, she didn’t disappoint with her looks throughout this journey. With A$AP Rocky by her side, she also showed off a lace-trimmed red and pink lingerie set at the Imagine music festival – perhaps from her own brand, Savage x Fenty. She paired the vibrant garments with a hot pink shoulder bag that only complemented the charms of her box braids.
