Happy New Year! Start the year off with a skincare roundup. I’ve been going through a skincare refresher and reset for the past few weeks and today I’m sharing what I’ve replenished and loved from Nordstrom. They stock most of the brands I use regularly and I’ve added a few new things to my routine this month.
cleaning supplies
I always love trying different cleaners and have finished using a few of these in the past few weeks. I’ve replenished my three favorites. The Kate Somerville Gentle Daily Wash is one of the best for sensitive skin but is still very effective at cleansing the skin. If I had to use one brand of cleaning supplies for the rest of my life, I think Kate Somerville would cover all of my needs. The ExfoliKate Cleanser is great with gentle, clinical-strength exfoliating ingredients. The Goat Milk Cleanser is great for dry skin and I love the EradiKate Daily Cleanser for acne prone skin.
La Mer’s Cleansing Foam is another favorite that I love for a silky creamy lather. It has a gentle spa scent but doesn’t irritate my skin. Leaves it sparkling clean and soft.
Dior’s La Mousse Off/On Foaming Face Cleanser is another great product if you have normal/combination skin. A little is enough and the skin feels fresh with this cream. This is my third tube!
I love a good acid peel to rejuvenate skin and remove dead skin cells, but sometimes it’s nice to have a gentle exfoliator on hand. I’ve had my eye on the Sisley Exfoliating Enzyme Mask for a while and decided to treat myself. It is a powder peeling that is activated with water. It turns into a creamy mask that you apply and massage into the skin. Leave on for 1 minute and then rinse. It far exceeded my expectations! The skin is left smooth and clean but not stripped. 100% love. It’s called a mask, but for me it’s cleansing + mask all in one.
I also highly recommend trying the Eve Lom Muslin Cleaning Cloths. They are for the Eve Lom Cleansing Balm, but I use the wipes with every cleanser. Helps to gently exfoliate the skin, ensuring all detergents are removed and improving circulation. I notice that my complexion is much clearer and smoother when I use wipes regularly.
toner
As a toner, I refilled my well-tried La Mer The Tonic. This is one of the best I’ve tried every season to rebalance, refresh and tone my skin. Leaves no film and is one of the few that doesn’t irritate my skin. 100% worth the money!
moisturizer
For moisturizers, I’m currently rotating a few including La Mer Moisturizing Soft Lotion and Chanel La Solution 10 de Chanel. Both are good for sensitive skin. La Mer has a wide range of moisturizers and creams for different skin types, my favorite was the Moisturizing Soft Lotion because it’s light yet very moisturizing.
Chanel La Solution 10 is one of my favorite creams for sensitive skin. It has 10 ingredients selected for sensitive skin. I like that it is fragrance free and has a creamy formula but comes with a pump dispenser.
Two sunscreens that I love are the Charlotte Tilbury Invisible UV Flawless Primer SPF 50 and the Kate Somerville Daily Deflector Mineral Sunscreen SPF 40. Both are easy to apply on the skin. I was really impressed with Charlotte Tilbury’s. I used it on my trip last month and it worked exceptionally well to protect my skin in Miami.
treatments and masks
For sheet masks, my two favorites are the 111Skin Y Theorem Bio Cellulose Face Mask and the La Mer Treatment Lotion Hydrating Mask. I refilled the 111Skin this month. A bio-cellulose mask, it helps moisturize and reduce fine lines. This has been one of my favorite products for years (even loved the original formula) and one I keep shelling out big bucks for.
NuFace has overhauled its Trinity+ and Mini+ devices. I received the Mini+ Starter Kit over the holidays and can’t wait to see the longer term results with it. I have several areas on my face that could benefit from the lifting effects of microcurrents. If you’ve tried any of the new devices, let me know what you think!
hand/body
I chose Jo Malone Vitamin E Nourishing Hand Treatment, an ultra-rich creamy hand cream. I’ve used it in the past and can’t remember why I never refilled it. It’s super luxurious and I highly recommend checking it out. For the body I really love the Necessaire Body Oil. It’s unscented, thick, absorbs well, moisturizes – love that it doesn’t have any added fragrance so it doesn’t interfere with my perfume. I have a mini from a holiday pack but just ordered the full size to keep on my bedside table.
That wraps up my skincare refresher for the New Year! What are you using right now? Any new skincare loves or rediscoveries?
