The formula is said to be “long-wearing, rich and creamy” with “instant full-color payoff” that is “extremely easy to use and blend.” There is also a built in sharpener. They are a cross between a more traditional eye pencil and an eyeliner, so the tip and thickness of the pencil was smaller and finer than a colored pencil but more substantial than an eyeliner.
They had a smooth, comfortable and creamy consistency that ensured they applied fluidly to the skin and the crook of the eyelid without tugging or tugging on the skin. It also resulted in more even coverage for most shades, and coverage was typically semi-opaque to full and buildable.
The formula was blendable at first but still dried faster – more like an eyeliner than a cream shadow in that regard – but by working one eye at a time and blending as you applied, a more diffused edge was doable. Most shades held up well for eight to nine hours before thinning/fading as an eyeliner or creasing as an eyeshadow.
