Mented Cosmetics Out of Office Bronzer ($22.00 for 0.35 oz) is a deep brown with subtle cool red undertones and a matte finish. It was richly pigmented where a little much went a long way, although the powder itself wasn’t overly powdery, allowing it to be used with a lighter hand or a less dense brush for a more buildable application if desired.
The consistency was soft, a bit drier, which made it difficult to apply. It also responded better to natural oils on the skin. Since this is a shade for tanning on very dark complexions, some of the issues I’ve had with fading and sticking to dryness, being absorbed into my skin, etc. should be less visible as the color of the bronzer approaches the color of your own complexion . The way the powder sat on my skin was an issue I had with all shades in the range, including the lighter ones – reminded me a lot of what I experienced with Charlotte Tilbury’s airbrush bronzers (which some really too seem to love, so while it’s true for all products, your mileage may vary quite a bit!). This shade showed signs of fading after seven and a half hours of wear.

formula overview
$22.00 –
The formula is said to be “highly pigmented” and “easy to blend”. The pigmentation was typically semi-opaque to opaque, and if not fully opaque, certainly buildable to get there. The texture felt soft, finely ground, and wasn’t too powdery (nor pressed too hard in the pan), but there was some dryness.
On my slightly drier skin (at least at the time of testing), the formula wasn’t as blendable or flattering to wear as it seemed to accentuate the dryness. The formula was easiest to apply and blend over a more luminous base lightly set with translucent powder, but it wasn’t ideal over a matte foundation or on my bare skin. The bronzers lasted seven to eight hours on my skin before fading.
The way the powder sat on my skin was an issue I experienced with all the shades in the range and reminded me a lot of what I had experienced with Charlotte Tilbury’s airbrush bronzers (which some seem to really love, so while it applies to all products, your mileage may vary!).
