All right, be honest; Did you go out and get a Halloween bucket from McDonald’s? I had these as a kid and in fact my mom still has one of mine haha. Had to ask her! She uses it to store crafting materials inside. So when I heard McDonald’s was releasing a new round of buckets, I had to have them. Then I thought, let’s do nail art.
This year’s buckets have no lids and have three different faces. There is a witch, a pumpkin and a ghost version. I went the first day they were released and got a ghost. Then 6 days later I found the witch. Hopefully I’ll find the pumpkin (update: my mom found me the pumpkin bucket, so now I have all three!). I’ve never ordered a Happy Meal before, haha that was funny. I don’t eat meat either, so I gave them to Mr. Ehmkay. He enjoyed the chicken nuggets haha.
Instead of making all the cream polish since the buckets are plain plastic, I spiced it up with some flakes! The KB Shimmers were actually Halloween releases, so how perfect is that? Inspired by Ghostbusters, He Slimed Me is the quintessence of Halloween!
Here are the specific colors. I have to say I originally wanted to do all the creams and I’m glad I changed my mind at the last minute!
- Orange: KB Shimmer Hey There Pumpkin, 2 coats
- Green: KB Shimmer He Slimed Me!, 3 layers
- White: Stella Chroma Stuck-Asaurus, 3 layers
- Black: Stella Chroma New Moon
Really, I was just looking at the buckets and mimicking the faces. Does this manicure look special in the context of what these buckets are? Probably not. You probably thought it was just Halloween faces. But this is cute and makes me happy!
I feel bad because all three of these Flake polishes were limited editions, but both brands have other gorgeous polishes in the same colors that you can snag! But the McDonald’s buckets are still out there, did you catch any!?
