Share this post with friends who are considering joining Beautycounter as a consultant. It’s one of the best things I’ve done for my business, so I’d like to share more about what it entails and how to get started.
Hello Hello! How is the morning going so far? I’m looking forward to a long fall break weekend, a trip to the pumpkin patch and a stay at Great Wolf Lodge.
For today’s post, I wanted to share more about the beauty counter business. In the past week so many people have reached out to me to join as a consultant (<— I think this has a lot to do with the fact that it's $20 to enroll right now!!). I don't talk about the opportunity too often (usually friends who read the blog sign up or just email me to let me know they're interested in participating), but I know that some of you might be curious about it Behind the scenes and with the $20 signup sale (ending 10/17) I had to spread the word.
Here’s a post I wrote a while back about being a Beautycounter Consultant and how it has impacted my business!
I also thought it would be a good time to share this post because Things are SO expensive right now, and we’re about to have an expensive season too. Between the holidays/meals, family gifts, class reunions, teacher gifts, on top of the increased cost of living with inflation…it’s a lot. If you’re looking for an option to make extra money on your own terms (from home!), this is an option that might work for you.
Here are some more details to help you decide if it might be for you and how to get started!
This not only applies to beauty counters, but could also be used for other network marketing or direct sales opportunities.
How to create your beauty counter business plan
Call your mentor to talk about upcoming events, how they recommend you get started, or what you need to do first. For consultants on my team, I have an onboarding process that they follow, along with a few ticks along the way. I also ask them about their goals! Some friends want to hit the ground running, others are more reserved. Others just sign up for the 25% discount and that’s cool too. It’s helpful to know their goals so I can coach and support them appropriately.
Brainstorm your “why” so you can share it with others on your journey. If you join Beautycounter, it could be something about how you wanted to make the switch to safer products (we all have that “aha” moment), or even if it can be financial. (Like “I wanted to be able to pay for our child’s private piano lessons” or the cost of daycare, etc.) I would describe your “why” transparently and in detail and write a post or have a chat with someone asking them why you have joined. There will be many people out there who will relate to your “why” and story.
Build an email list for those who might be interested learn more about safer skincare and beauty products (with the option to opt-out if they’re not interested). Send an email with your “why”, your personal link to shop and the opportunity to contact you with questions. I’ve found that our personal networks really want to support our efforts. If I can buy something from a friend instead of getting it from Target, I will absolutely support that friend!
Create a launch event. This is optional, but you can host a popup to share more about the products, you can create a text popup, or create samples or drop-off kits for friends to try the products. A launch event can be a great way to make a splash and let people know what you’re doing. If you’re shy or not into it, you can order samples to share with friends and get in touch with them to see how they like them. 🙂
Be consistent. Even take an hour each week to work on building your business. This could be something like creating an email newsletter, following up with customers, putting together sample kits, or filming some Instagram stories featuring your favorite products. Many of your friends may be watching to see if you continue to use the products before committing to trying them out for yourself, so stick with it. A friend might think of you when they run out of moisturizer and need to try something new.
Benefits of the Beautycounter consultant
Share safer products with those you love
When I first heard what was actually in many of our skincare and beauty products in the US, I wanted to share it with anyone who would listen. It was SHOCKING for me to learn about all the chemicals and endocrine disruptors that are allowed to be used here in the US. It honestly infuriated me and still does, and I am grateful to be able to share products with those I love that have been tested for safety and use no more than 1800 potentially harmful ingredients.
We earn 25-35% commission on our sales, on top of potential bonuses. The minimum wagering requirement is $750 for 6 months (including your own purchases), but if you don’t reach this there is no penalty. You only become a Band of Beauty member instead of an advisor.
Access to behind the counter
This allows us to track everything including customer sales, birthdays, follow-up procedures, product credits, recent press, and can watch training videos. I LOVE Behind the Counter because there are specific action plans based on your goals. You can use it as much or as little as you need, but everything you’ll ever want to know is in BTC.
We get 25% off our personal orders (I think that alone is worth it if you love the products!) and steeper discounts on training sets, new product launches and holiday sets.
Possibilities for bonuses and incentives
Through our Start Counting program, you have the opportunity to earn product credits and rewards for you and your Mentor that increase each month. If you hit the Start Counting milestones every month, you want your business to be in full swing by the end of the first 90 days. I hit my Start Counting milestones and loved that it gave me goals for each month and set me up for long-term success.
The opportunity to create an additional source of income from home
I can’t say you’ll become a millionaire, but when you think about what an extra $50, $500, or $5,000 a month can do for you, it can be significant. I started making enough to buy a nice dinner every month and now it matches or exceeds what I make from the blog’s ad revenue. There is a lot of potential and opportunities to develop. As with many things in life, you get out what you put in. (Same goes for health and fitness!) Plus, you don’t have to be super active on social media. We have many rock stars on our team who rarely use social media.
Thanks to my partnership with Beautycounter, I have been able to connect with so many amazing women around the world. Our team is full of inspiring women, all cheering each other on.
We have a $20 enrollment opportunity right now (insane!!!). So if you think it might be something for you, you can read more details here. If you’re interested in joining my team, we’d love to have you and I’d love to support you on your journey.

Have a wonderful morning and see you tomorrow with Friday Faves!
