Dropping in to say hello and let you know we’re doing fine and safe! We had an eventful week with a roller coaster of emotions with the hurricane. We are grateful that our Tampa Bay area is okay with minimal damage, but we are heartbroken by the destruction and damage that has occurred to other areas of Florida.
We experienced a lot of wind and rain, but due to our area and zone, we did not have to evacuate. My in-laws were evacuated as they are very close to the water, so they packed up the essentials and stayed with us for a few days before returning home safely.
As expected we had no power for several days but there were so many trucks all over Florida helping us that we only had no power for 3 days.
Devastated to see the damage caused by Hurricane Ian in other parts of Florida. We were in Fort Myers a few months ago and it is heartbreaking to see the entire area destroyed. They are just over 2 hours south of us. We donate to the Florida Disaster Fund. Given the damage, it will most likely take years to rebuild.
Ollie and Kitty are fine. Ollie is now 8 months old and we think he is almost full grown at 17.4lbs! Both bring us so much happiness.
Thank you for everyone who messaged me to check in. I feel blessed and happy.
