I loved my October fall plaid so much that I knew immediately afterward that I wanted to repeat it for Christmas and Hanukkah. So first I have the Christmas version and I’m so excited because I got to use one of the new KB Shimmer Christmas polishes which contained the perfect Christmas fir green. So let’s take a look.
As with all nail art, I’m crawling over the color choices. I had to narrow it down to 3 red creams, 3 green creams, then the red glints. Also, I originally wanted to use KB Shimmer Say It Ain’t Cilantro, which is a lighter green that’s reflective. Then, after swatching the Northern Exposure collection, I knew Logging Off had to be the green.
I also went with a pale pink base! I thought it would mix it up and change the stark white.
- Soft Pink: Jessica Cosmetics Hydrangea, 3 thin coats
- Shimmering Red: Girly Bits Cosmetics Since I Cran, 2 coats
- Reflective Green: KB Shimmer Logging Off, 2 layers
- Red Cream: Zoya Ming
- Green Cream: Zoya Wyatt
To create the checkered look, I start with the largest line first, which was the shimmery red. I used the buff brush to create this. Then I added the red cream, knowing darker colors were next. For these lines and the rest I used a Stripe Brush. Then I added the dark green cream. Finally the reflective green.
Of course I took pictures like 5 days after I made this nail art. So typical of me!
