#1 This is the key to a sustained blowout
Have you ever sent a client out the door and their style immediately starts to frizz? Our NIGHTMARE! To avoid this, you have to make sure “that your hair is 100 percent dry,” says Dali Modesto (@dalidoeshair). Before going in with a round brush to perfect the blowout, Dali roughly dries the hair 85 percent. Then she uses the last 15 percent to shape the hair and add volume to the finished look.
If your client goes outside and her hair starts frizzing, “it’s probably a sign that there’s still moisture in her hair,” she adds. That’s why Dali Olivia Garden loves NanoThermic® PowerGrip™ brushes: They have extra large ventilation holes for particularly fast blow-drying.
Pro tip: Dali never goes without an anti-humidity spray for added protection.

#2 For clients with curtain bangs, do this!
If you’re struggling with layer blowouts or curtain pops, it could be because you’re using the wrong size brush. “The hair should go around the brush at least once to create enough curl,” says Karla White (@southernblendboss). This creates the perfect, springy finish.

#3 Work with your end goal in mind
Not all curls are the same! Some styles feature a lot of volume, others are more subtle. Follow these steps:
How to get high volume: Dali’s advice? Use 1″ Olivia Garden NanoThermic® PowerGrip™ brushes to create tight curls, rocking back and forth while smoothing hair, making sure ends are polished.
Create volume at the roots: Dali uses a larger brush in the Mohawk area for more lift. She uses as many brushes as she can fit when setting the curls, which is usually 8 to 12 depending on hair density.
Consider this: She will only use this technique for clients with great hair integrity. If the hair is damaged, finer or prone to tangles, Dali may use a traditional curling iron.
For more subtle volume, swap out a round brush for pins: if the client wants a smoother look with a little less volume, Dali pins the brush’s curls (instead of tucking them into the brush) for a more effortless look with subtle volume. Check out her cute curls below!

#4 Follow the shape of the layers as you blow dry
Cut and color aren’t the only things to cover during a consultation. Dali likes an in-depth consultation that includes a conversation about the styling. She then asks how her client prefers to wear her bangs to help with styling.
When it comes to styling layers, “they’ll tell you everything you need to know,” says Dali. She finds that layered clients are the easiest to blow out because you follow the shape of the layers as they dry. Tip: Don’t try to fight the natural fall of bangs and layers.
Pro tip: start by drying the bangs first! Dali always starts blow drying from the bangs because once they are dry it is very difficult to control and style them.

#5 This is the secret to frizz-free blowouts
Oftentimes, stylists will reach for a hair product when trying to get rid of frizz, but did you know your brushes can be just as powerful? Jennifer Perlman (@thegirlwithablowdryer) uses Olivia Garden NanoThermic® PowerGrip™ brushes for their ionic technology that eliminates frizz and flyaways. The brush also has a unique wavy shaft design that creates an effortless curve in the hair.
Pro tip: Jennifer uses a square brush for thick or coarse hair, but she loves to use Olivia Garden’s NanoThermic® PowerGrip brushes for fine to medium hair types.
