formula overview
$8.00/0.24oz. – $33.33 per ounce
The formula is said to be a “hybrid” product that has the “color of a lipstick with the care of a lip balm” in a “creamy matte finish.” They described the cover as “buildable”. They feature a flexible doe-foot applicator with a rounder side and a more slanted triangular side (the latter has worked well for getting sharper color lines).
The product had semi-opaque to opaque coverage in a single swipe of the product, although one could certainly use only one side of the applicator product to achieve a more transparent, more buildable coverage if desired.
The consistency was mousse-like with an airy, velvety-smooth feel that made it easy to spread on my lips and comfortable to wear. It wasn’t sticky, but there was a bit of adhesion without the stickiness, the kind I tend to find with velvetier, more silicone-heavy formulas like this one.
It has a creamier finish that wears off to a soft matte finish after an hour or two. They don’t dry out completely, so they’re not abrasion-resistant or ultra-long-lasting. They lasted between four and six hours, with deeper, more reddish shades tending to last the longest and leave light stains. They were slightly moisturizing over time. There seemed to be no smell or taste.
They’re much lighter and initially less “wet” to the touch than the brand’s previous Ultra Satin formula. The Ultra Satin formula adhered better and lasted a very long time, and while it wasn’t transfer resistant initially, it was more transfer resistant after an hour or two of wear.
