Colored Raine Butterfly Cream Blush ($16.00 for 0.28 oz) is a lighter, medium-dark purple with cooler undertones and a semi-matte finish. It was richly pigmented where a little went very, very far. The texture was too soft – it felt like it had already melted in the sun, but it also felt that way upon opening it after being in 70 degree temps overnight. (It’s not even sizzling here since it IS winter at the time of testing!)
I wouldn’t recommend using your fingertips as they tend to dislodge the product and pick up a ridiculous amount of product when you need the tiniest amount of product to get high coverage with the formula. It dried to a mostly matte finish in about ten seconds. Using a fluffy synthetic brush allowed me to apply and spread the product without much effort, but it played better on less dull/less dry skin. It wore well for eight hours before visibly fading.

formula overview
$16.00 –
The formula didn’t have many claims, just that it’s supposed to be a “silky cream” texture that “helps moisturize the skin” with “the right amount of color.” The texture was incredibly creamy; it felt like it was half melted by the sun because any pressure caused the product to dislodge quite a bit.
I would highly recommend using a fluffy synthetic brush and a feather light hand to pick up the product, which was enough pressure to pick up more than enough product as they were intensely pigmented.
Notable: After the initial release of four shades, the brand released two more shades in a smaller format, and they were significantly less creamy, thick, and had a thinner, slightly emollient texture that took longer to dry and wasn’t quite as pigmented (but still quite pigmented overall – I just didn’t have to use the gentlest of touches to grab the product like the original shades).
Despite being one of the creamiest formulas I’ve come across in the cream blush space, it dried completely to a more “natural” matte finish – not totally flat, but not at all dewy. The blush applied fairly well to bare skin and over foundation, but I found the fingertips were more prone to lifting base products with this formula.
They wore me about eight hours before visibly fading.
