Hello everyone! Today’s look is another one that has been on my Pinterest nail art inspiration board for a very long time. I know it’s a really long time because I photographed it in a Papyrus store. The stores closed just before the pandemic in 2020 and boy do I miss them. I used to buy tickets for holidays and birthdays there. I believe this image was on a gift bag and I knew I wanted to recreate it!
I loved the moody green background, but I’ll admit I was super nervous about how much the green would stain my nails. I looked at my original Swatch post and no mentions. Well luckily no stains on my nail bed and just a little bit on my cuticles when removing. Now I can wear this green again without any worries. I also wore it for a week, so a nice long time.
I applied two coats of the green base and then added dots and super simple snowflakes. I was thinking of stamping the snowflakes but the gift bag had these simple ones and I loved the look of it. Then I sketched the cat in the same green! It helps to make it the same color because if there is a mistake no one can see it. Following the sketch, I added the cat’s face, then the hat, then the stocking!
Here are the colors I used for this look:
- Green base: Zoya Wyatt
- Orange: Lechat dares to wear Felicity
- Lighter pink: Jessica Cosmetics in focus
- Darker pink: Zoya Padma
- Light red: Zoya Margaret
- Darker red: Zoya Pepper
- Soft White (Cat Face): Stella Chroma High Noon
- Bright White: KB Shimmer White Here White Now
- Black: Stella Chroma New Moon
I love the darker colors with the bright white. I also love the calico cat as these are my favorites!
Isn’t that simple and cute? And it brings me back to how cute papyrus was. Yes, they still sell cards in stores, but I loved having all of their designs in one place!
