1. Cat Rice
First things first: If you’re trying to go low carb, look the other way. LOL! This is an easy, delicious rice dish that you can eat on its own or with other meat or vegetable ingredients. It includes hot cooked rice, soy sauce and bonito (tuna) flakes. I add a knob of butter to take it to the next level!
By the way, I found bonito flakes at Whole Foods!
I usually eat cat rice with a fried egg and sliced tomatoes.
2. The show “Maggie” on Hulu and the makeup
You’ve probably heard me say it before, but here it is again for the cheap seats in the back. Ever since I’ve had Connor, I can’t watch anything too scary or too heavy. Whatever the reason, it’s just too much. anyone. This is a very funny light comedy slash sci-fi show with likeable characters and sharp dialogue.
The story revolves around Maggie, a psychic who can read other people’s futures. Unfortunately, her current life is quite messy.
I laugh out loud every time I watch this show!
Oh the makeup is fantastic. It’s a fun mix of wearable and chic looks, and I got a lot of inspiration from it. I just saw an episode where Maggie did an appearance as a psychic at a high school prom and she wore a beautiful two tone blue liner on her lids along with blue mascara. It was just the right amount of color. I’ve been trying to find out the show’s makeup artists and they are listed here on IMDB.
3. Listen to your body when it needs rest
I’ve not been very good at this in the past because even when I’m tired and have free time, my first inclination is usually to get over uncomfortable feelings and be productive. It doesn’t usually serve me well.

Anyway, I’ve been feeling a little frayed around the edges lately, so yesterday I forced myself to do absolutely nothing. I was just resting. I ate cat rice, slept on the couch and watched TV.
4. “The White Lotus” on HBO
This show won a few Emmys, and I wanted to see it mainly because I adore Jennifer Coolidge. It’s a character-driven show without a defined villain. So if you prefer your shows to have a signature arc (there’s nothing wrong with that!), this might not be the series for you. In the end I really liked it.
It has a very strange pacing so be prepared for that. Oh, and don’t watch it around children. Too many schcmexytime scenes.
5. These pants
Jean from the Extra Petite blog recently recommended these Abercrombie and Fitch pants. I bought the gray pair in the short length and I LOVE THEM. They are soft, light and comfortable, machine washable and you can easily dress them up or down.
FYI, I read in the comments that these run small so you might want to consider going up a size. I did and am very happy with the fit. They sell out fast, so if you see a pair you like, get yours asap.
